The Clerk-Treasurer serves as the town’s fiscal officer in an elected role with a four-year term. In addition to serving as the Town’s fiscal officer, the Clerk-Treasurer is also responsible for:

  • Prepare for the Town Council budget estimates of Town revenues and expenses and the proposed tax rate
  • Maintains custody of the Town seal and records of the Town Council
  • Issues licenses and permits and collects fees as required by ordinance
  • Service as the clerk of the Town Council by attending meetings and recording the proceedings
  • Service as the administrative head of Chesterfield Water and Wastewater utilities
  • Administers oaths and takes depositions
