Millcreek Civic Center

The Millcreek Civic Center, which is attached to the west side of the Chesterfield Government Center at 17 Veterans Blvd., is a popular location for many community events. It features a remodeled Memorial Hall, gymnasium, kitchen facilities, small stage, and Bose sound system. Also, several former classrooms are available for small gatherings.

The Bronnenberg Cemetery is one of Indiana’s best kept and run pioneer cemeteries. It sits on about four acres just north of Anderson Airport. The cemetery was established in 1836 when Frederick and Barbara Bronnenberg buried an 18-year-old son there. Frederick Bronnenberg Sr. was the patriarch of what would become a prominent Madison County family. Today, the cemetery is the final resting place of many local citizens.

American Legion Post 408

The American Legion Post 408 has a long history in Chesterfield. Although its presence in Chesterfield dates back much farther, its current post headquarters at 5100 Mounds Road was built in 1972.

The American Legion is a patriotic, mutual-help, war-time veterans organization. Its national headquarters are in nearby Indianapolis.

Chesterfield Optimist Club

The Chesterfield Optimist Club meets at 6:30 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesday in the Millcreek Civic Center, 17 Veterans Blvd.

The club is a service group for youth in the community.
