The Town of Chesterfield Planning Commission is responsible for the long-range planning of our community. The Commission advises the Town Council on land use policies and oversees the implementation of the town's Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinance.
By evaluating development proposals, site plans, and subdivision plats, the Commission ensures that new growth aligns with the character of Chesterfield while promoting economic vitality and residential quality.
To ensure a fair and transparent process, the Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) operates under specific legal guidelines regarding communication and public testimony.
In accordance with Indiana law, individuals may not communicate with any member of the Board of Zoning Appeals prior to a hearing with the intent to influence the member’s action on a pending matter.
Town staff may file a written statement with the board containing facts or opinions related to a pending matter no later than five days before the scheduled hearing.
The BZA welcomes written testimonies in support of, or in opposition to, matters pending before the board. Please address all written correspondence to:
